Today, 27 July, we salute and honor the following men who sacrificed their lives whilst standing in the defence of what they held dear at the time and against evil and tyranny.
SOUTH AFRICAN BORDER WAR
27 Jul 1985: 83429639BG Rifleman James Richard Willard Rudd from 3 SAI was killed in a military vehicle accident at Omauni. He was 18.
27 Jul 1987: 83610741BG Rifleman Andre Hartzenberg from Infantry School was killed in a Military Vehicle Accident at the Infantry School Training Centre in Oudtshoorn. He was 19.
27 Jul 1990: 89096606CK Rifleman Alan Fuller from 3 SAI was accidentally killed at the Vooruitsig Shooting Range after being struck by a bullet that ricocheted off a stone wall at the range. He was 21.

27-Jul-79 WO1 Desmond Buissinne RhAPC KOAS Died in a vehicle accident, aged 35.
27-Jul-78 Pte Johanne Phiri 1st Bn RAR KOAS Killed in a parachute training accident.
27-Jul-78 Pte Oliver Rangarirayi A Coy, 5th Bn RR KIA Killed in a CT action near Sipolilo, Op Hurricane, at the age of 29.
27-Jul-71 Sgt Not recorded Rhodesia Uniform BSAP KOAS in a vehicle accident whilst on duty in the Bulawayo area.
