Today, 22 October, we salute and honour the following men & woman who sacrificed their lives whilst standing in the defence of what they held dear at the time and against evil and tyranny. 

SOUTH AFRICAN BORDER WAR

22 Oct 1986: 82391780BG Corporal Pieter Johannes Jacobus Meisenheimer from the Army Gymnasium was killed when the Bedford Water Tanker he was driving, overturned at Heidelberg. He was 20.

RHODESIAN BUSH WAR

1976 – Cpl William Keith FLIGHT, HQ, RhASC, died on active service.

1977 – FR David "Dave" ARMSTRONG MSM (46), FR Eric MOSS (54), both of PR, BSAP, and Insp(T) Geoffrey William PRATT (39), Uniform, BSAP, died in a vehicle accident near Ft Victoria.

1978 – ADF Asst GUDUZA, Intaf, was murdered by CTs whilst on R&R, Somlota Line, Tjolotjo, Op Tangent.

1978 – FR Zuzeyo BITIRINYU and FR Waison MAGIRAZI, both of the PR, BSAP, were killed, by a landmine blast whilst on a mine clearing exercise 15-20 km from Headlands, Op Thrasher.
