We Did Not See It Even In Afghanistan: Memoirs Of A Participant Of The Angolan War (1986-1988) - ...

Confusing and badly written; maybe it is because of the gaps in the translation of the script.

I found that the author contradict himself and not having proper knowledge of South African military doctrine, equipment used in the conflict or the South African end goal.

The author as a proudly Russian (USSR) soldier confuse national pride with the ability to wage war on the African continent and it seems that the Russians expected the Angolan Conflict to be a walk in the park.

I think that the Russians (USSR) soldiers on arrival in Angola and as indoctrinated expected to fight a ragtag, starving, uneducated, ill discipline, ill equip and sub-human enemy but found to their horror only the opposite.
