10 May 1981: 76340843PE Lance Corporal Louis Pienaar from Air Force Base Pietersburg was accidentally killed after being struck by a bullet in a shooting incident at the Single Living-In Quarters at AFB Pietersburg. He was 20.
10 May 1983: Four members from the South West Africa Police Counter-Insurgency Wing: Ops-K Division (Koevoet) were Killed in Action during a fierce engagement with a numerically superior force of SWAPO/PLAN insurgents in Northern Owamboland. They were:
Sergeant A. Willem. He was 27.
Special Constable U. Maundu. He was 25.
Special Constable T. Mbendura. He was 28
Special Constable J. Musaso. He was 24
10 May 1992: 86458965PE Seaman William Henry Forster from SAS Immortelle was killed in a private motor vehicle accident in Pretoria when his car was involved in a collision with another vehicle on the corner of Church and Prinsloo Streets. He was 22.
Their names and sacrifices will not be forgotten.
