03 Nov 1967: Two members from 17 Squadron and three civilians from the Department of Water Affairs were accidentally killed when their Alouette III Helicopter, Serial 59, struck High Tension cables and crashed 3 miles north of Verulam. The casualties in this incident were:

Mr. Alfred Hamilton Barry (Civilian Passenger, Department of Water Affairs). He was 44.
Mr. R. De Villiers (Civilian Passenger, Department of Water Affairs). He was 32.
Dr. F.C. Truter (Civilian Passenger, Department of Water Affairs). He was 39.
03 Nov 1973: 70508080N Trooper Jan Adriaan Smit van Heerden from the School of Armour died from injuries accidentally sustained during training. He was 19.
03 Nov 1978: 01166719PE Colonel Petrus Ernestus Joubert from Army Headquarters was killed in a private motor vehicle accident in Germiston. He was 42.
03 Nov 1980: 77454007BG Rifleman Leon Bester from 6 SAI was killed when his private vehicle overturned on the road between Queenstown and Sterkstroom. He was returning to his Base after a weekend pass. He was 19.
03 Nov 1983: 78325826BT Corporal Gregory Frederick Beelders from 18 Corps was killed when the military vehicle in which he was traveling, struck a storm water bridge at Kamanjab. He was 21.
03 Nov 1987: Two members of 32 Battalion were killed in a shooting incident at Buffalo Base. The casualties were:

03 Nov 1987: 83394411BG Lance Corporal Anton Willemse from the South African Corps of Military Police was killed in a private motorcycle accident between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund. He was 19.
03 Nov 1987: 84258581BG Airman Sean Matthew Brennan from 515 Security Squadron at Air Force Base Ondangwa was killed after being accidentally shot in the head while talking on the phone to his family. He was 19.
03 Nov 1988: Lance Corporal Johannes Lodewikus Bouwer from the School of Artillery died from intra-abdominal bleeding after being involved in a private motor vehicle accident at the Potchefstroom Dam. He was 19.
03 Nov 1989: 78910775PD Rifleman Manuel S. Antonio from 32 Battalion was accidentally killed when his Buffel Troop Carrier overturned near Pomfret. He was 44.
03 Nov 1998: 6847306 Corporal K S Oliphant from 10 SAI died of disease in Vryburg. He was 36.
Their names and sacrifices have not been forgotten.
