BROTHERS IN BLOOD: THE MEN OF 32 BATTALION

For the first time in history the men from 32 Battalion, the South African Defence Force’s most well-known, controversial and feared unit, talk about their experiences during the Border War. Some 60 former 32 Battalion members were interviewed, hundreds of photos were prepared and hours of film footage and video tape viewed to make the documentary as thought-provoking as possible. Much of the archived material has never been seen before and many of the men interviewed, only spoke about the war for the first time in nearly 40 years. This is a tribute to the bravest of the brave!

Duration: 90 minutes.  Region free DVD.

Give credit where its due!

I have just watched that DVD made by Ruaan Kershoff – Brothers in Blood The men of 32 Battalion.
We seriously have to give credit where it is due! It takes guts to write a book and make a documentary as you open yourself up to all sorts of attacks. How many of our unit have had the guts to do that – Col Jan, Piet Nortje, Botties and who else? It is easy to lie on the couch and pass comments but you TRY to do the work that they have done.
Well, I feel that Ruaan did an excellent job not to mention the effort and the expense, which he covered himself. This was hard work! He deserves credit!
You must buy this DVD.
I am suggesting to him that he makes a follow up on that DVD with more action clips and more of the interviews – the DVD is 91 minutes but the interviews and clips over 20 hours.
I am however very disappointed that EV did not give an interview or any input!!
Well done to Oom Gert !
I have watched so many documentaries on various wars and especially SF units like the Green Berets, SAS, SEALS, Foreign Legion etc etc and this DVD is as good as any of them out there without all the propaganda, twisted facts and dramatics that the Americans are so good at !
Well, as for those foreign SF units ---- 32 can be included with them as we are as good as them especially when it comes to courage and blood and guts. What these foreign SF units especially the present ones seem to forget is that they have and had a huge arsenal of weapons and support whereas 32 had basically jack shit – not even a drone ! One lousy gunship at Savate !
This DVD has my full backing and I recommend a follow up.

BROTHERS IN BLOOD: THE MEN OF 32 BATTALION (DVD

A very interesting account of 32bn units activities, which were not commonly spoken about. Well worth the purchase.
